Endoscopy Technician/ Medical Assistant
Summary
The Monterey Bay Endoscopy Center LLC is seeking a compassionate Endoscopy Technician/Medical Assistant who is interested in working at our Ambulatory Surgery Center located in the Ryan Ranch business park in Monterey, California.
Our Endoscopy Center serves a diverse population of outpatient ambulatory surgery patients. As a team member, you will work closely with 10 gastroenterology specialists performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures on adult patients. You will be part of a team including multiple registered nurses, anesthesiology providers and experienced endoscopy and sterilization technicians. Our facility has 4 procedure rooms, 6 admits bays and 6 recovery bays.
Essential Job Functions:
Greet and register patients using our Athena Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Obtain and record vitals signs; verify consents are on file
Assist with post-procedure patient dressing and ambulation
Provide safe post-procedure transport via wheelchair to the patient’s designated driver
After orientation is completed in pre-and post-procedure departments, the candidate will be trained as an Endoscopy Technician under the direct supervision of our physicians and RNs:
Preparing and breaking down the procedure room
Assisting with patient positioning prior to procedure start
Assisting with snare resection / biopsy of tissue from the gastrointestinal tract
Handling of tissue specimens
Handling of procedure equipment and bedside disinfection
Requirements
High school degree or equivalent
Medical Assistant (MA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Current American Heart Association BLS certificate--if no current certificate have 60 days after the date of hire to obtain one.
Must adhere to all CDC, OSHA, and infection control guidelines
Basic computer skills
Able to lift 30 lbs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $21.00-$26.00 per hour depending on experience
